Matthew 28:19-20
New Living Translation (NLT)
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Jesus spent the vast majority of His 3 year ministry with a few men. He taught them through doing life with them and then said go make disciples of others and teach them what I taught you. So, in essence Jesus was saying that all this stuff I am showing and teaching you is not for you. It is for others.
Challenge to self…This weekend when I attend church not to go into the service thinking “I can’t wait to hear what God is going to say to me to help me” but rather “What is God going to teach me so that I can teach someone else”. Take notes for somebody else. When I have my quiet times with God, absorb the things He impresses upon me with the mindset that those words are to be shared with someone else and then do it. Jesus investing in eleven (minus Judas) and from I know the gospel. Go tell a few friends, and they tell a few friends, and so on, and so on, and so on. That is how I can make disciples of all the nations…
